The Boston College Eagles will continue to search for their first conference win of the season Saturday when they host the Wake Forest Demon Deacons as 7 1/2-point betting favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Points have not come easy for the Eagles this season, as they struggled again last weekend, dropping a 9-7 decision to the Duke Blue Devils. But Boston College earned an against-the-spread victory as 4 1/2-point road underdogs.

The loss dropped Boston College to 1-2 straight up in its last three outings ahead of Saturday’s Demon Deacons-Eagles matchup at Alumni Stadium but 3-2 overall this season.

The Eagles came up short in their only other meeting with an ACC opponent this season, falling 14-0 to the Florida State Seminoles in a defensive struggle in which BC failed to cover as 8 1/2-point underdogs.

The silver lining for the Eagles? Opponents have struggled equally to score points against them, as the team’s defense is ranked No. 1 in the nation, allowing an average of just 140 total yards per game and 8 points per game.

The Demon Deacons arrive in Boston riding a two-game SU losing streak following a 24-16 loss at home to the Seminoles last weekend. Wake Forest covered a huge 18-point spread in that game to end a three-game ATS losing streak.

The loss to Florida State extends Wake Forest’s dismal record against ACC opponents to 1-13 SU and a marginally better 6-8 ATS, according to the OddsShark College Football Database.

Wake Forest also has dropped its last two against Boston College following a pair of wins, and the Demon Deacons are 2-6 SU in their last eight outings (3-5 ATS).

In other ACC Week 6 college football betting action, the Seminoles will be shooting for a fifth consecutive SU win when they battle the Miami Hurricanes as 8 1/2-point betting favorites.

Despite a perfect record, No. 11 Florida State dropped one spot this week in the AP Top 25 and has been a risky bet, going 2-6 ATS in its last eight games.

Riding high from a 24-22 win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish last weekend, the No. 6 Clemson Tigers will host the fading Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets as 7-point favorites this week. The Blue Devils visit the Army Black Knights as 12 1/2-point chalk.
