DraftKings Week 5 Dream Lineup: Le’Veon Bell, Philip Rivers Among Best Picks
Week 5 of the 2015 NFL season has started, and it’s time to submit your final lineups for DraftKings leagues.
Here’s a look at which players we believe will perform at a high level for fantasy owners in daily leagues.
Quarterback: Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers ($6,200)
Rivers leads the NFL in passing yards and has eight touchdowns with four interceptions. He also gets his No. 1 target, tight end Antonio Gates, back from a four-game suspension this week.
Running Backs: Le’Veon Bell, Pittsburgh Steelers ($8,500); Justin Forsett, Baltimore Ravens ($5,800)
Bell has been very good as the focal point of the Steelers offense since returning in Week 3 after a two-game suspension. He also has a good matchup against a Chargers defense that ranks 27th against the run and gives up 126.8 rush yards per game on the ground.
Forsett has an even better matchup versus a Browns defense that ranks 30th against the run with 141.5 rush yards allowed per game.
Wide Receivers: Emmanuel Sanders, Denver Broncos ($7,400); Allen Hurns, Jacksonville Jaguars ($4,500); James Jones, Green Bay Packers ($5,700)
Sanders is a safe play with his 10-target, 76-yard averages this season. Hurns had a breakout game in Week 4 with 11 catches on 15 targets for 116 yards and a touchdown. He’s emerged as the top target for Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles. Jones is a good value play with an average of 79.3 receiving yards per game and a total of four receiving touchdowns (second-most in the league).
Tight End: Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers ($4,200)
Gates is a touchdown machine and he’s had four extra weeks to get in shape after his four-game suspension. Expect Rivers to target his former All-Pro tight end early and often, especially in the red zone.
Flex: Dion Lewis, New England Patriots ($4,800)
Lewis is a must-start in PPR leagues like DraftKings. He’s caught at least four passes from Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in each of their first three games, while tallying more than 100 total yards in two of them. Lewis also has a favorable matchup against a struggling Dallas Cowboys defense.
Defense: New York Giants ($2,900)
The Giants have a fantastic matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, whose quarterback Colin Kaepernick has thrown just two touchdowns with five interceptions through four games. The 49ers also should struggle in the ground game because the Giants have the No. 1 ranked run defense with an average of just 69.8 yards allowed per game.
