The NHL Winter Classic has become one of hockey’s most anticipated annual events since it started in 2008, when the Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres squared off outdoors at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y.
Perhaps more anticipated, though, is the release of each team’s unique Winter Classic jersey. Sometimes it’s a great spin-off of a team’s current jersey or a modernized resurrection of a retro classic. Other times, the designs are just downright awful.
The Boston Bruins will reveal their 2016 Winter Classic jersey Saturday, so in anticipation, we looked back at all 14 previous get-ups and ranked them from worst to first.
