Fantasy Football Week 8 Waiver Wire: Last-Minute Pickups At Each Position

Now that “Thursday Night Football” is out of the way, fantasy football owners have a good idea what they need this weekend for the remaining slate of Week 8 games.

Here are some good last-minute pickups to consider on your league’s waiver wire.

Quarterback: Matt Stafford, Detroit Lions
Stafford is still unowned in about 25 percent of leagues, so if he’s out there, grab him. The seventh-year pro has put up back-to-back good games, faces a mediocre Kansas City secondary that routinely has been beaten this season, and now sports a new offensive coordinator in Jim Bob Cooter.

Other options: Teddy Bridgewater, Nick Foles, Ryan Fitzpatrick

Running Back: Antonio Andrews, Tennessee Titans
Andrews is the best running back the Titans have and is facing a Houston defense that just gave up over 230 total yards from scrimmage to Lamar Miller. The Texans also have allowed nine touchdowns to opposing running backs and over 150 total yards of offense. Andrews is owned in less than 40 percent of leagues.

Other options: Charcandrick West, Darren McFadden, Alfred Blue

Wide Receiver: Michael Floyd, Arizona Cardinals
Floyd has had back-to-back double-digit outputs in PPR leagues, including touchdowns in each of those games. Cleveland’s defense is bad, and top cornerback Joe Haden only returned to practice Wednesday.

Other options: Stefon Diggs, Tyler Lockett, Dorial Green-Beckham

Tight End: Ladarius Green, San Diego Chargers
Green has continued to produce even with the return of Antonio Gates. Now, with Gates injured, Green has regained his status as No. 1 tight end in San Diego’s system. With a red-hot Philip Rivers throwing the ball and a porous Baltimore secondary opposing him, Green is a nice pickup in the 50 percent of leagues he’s currently not owned in.
