Jalen Watts-Jackson forever will be a hero in Michigan State football lore for his incredible game-winning touchdown on the final play of Saturday’s rivalry game between the Spartans and the Michigan Wolverines.

With his team trailing by two with less than a minute to play in the fourth quarter, Watts-Jackson scooped up the loose ball after a muffed Michigan punt and ran it back for an improbable score as time expired, silencing the crowd at the Big House.

Unfortunately for him, the win came at a cost. Spartans head coach Mark Dantonio told reporters after the game that Watts-Jackson suffered a hip injury.

It’s not yet known if the injury was suffered during the actual play, or afterward when his teammates jumped on him in celebration.

The win kept Michigan State’s unbeaten record intact, and the Spartans currently sit atop the Big Ten’s East Division with the No. 1 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes at 7-0.
