Mike Ditka is still trying to clear the air.

The former Chicago Bears coach and Pro Football Hall of Famer appeared on ESPN Radio to once again deny that he farted on live TV during this week’s edition of “Monday Night Countdown.”

Ditka explained in the segment that “Countdown” host Chris Berman was responsible for the noise, saying he pooh-poohed his picking the New York Giants over the Philadelphia Eagles because Berman is a Philly fan.

Fellow “Countdown” panelist Cris Carter, whose face exaggerated what everyone thought was a fart, gave the same story, but it seems weird that it took this long for anyone to give that explanation.

It’s too bad Ditka didn’t have a fall guy to take the blame at the time. Cris Carter knows a thing or two about that.
