With the news of Flip Saunders’ death on Sunday, many involved in the NBA have reached out to offer their condolences.

And now, the NBA Coaches Association plans to honor the late Minnesota Timberwolves coach for the entire season.

“To honor Coach Saunders, the NBA Coaches Association will dedicate the coming NBA season to his memory and during games all Coaches will wear a special ‘Flip’ lapel pin,” NBA Coaches association president Rick Carlisle said Monday in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and the entire Timberwolves organization.”

Carlisle’s statement also gave condolences to Saunders’ family for the loss of “one of the most respected coaches in NBA history” and a “warm and caring gentleman.”

The pins are simple, but they’ll serve as the perfect reminder of their former colleague. Plus, as T-Wolves forward Kevin Garnett showed Sunday, sometimes the simplest gestures speak the loudest.
