FOXBORO, Mass. — New England Patriots guard Ryan Wendell returned to practice Monday after sitting out over two weeks with a mysterious illness.

Wendell last practiced Thursday, Sept. 17, on a limited basis. He has been listed on the injury report with the illness since Sept. 16, though he wouldn’t specify the condition with which he was dealing.

The Patriots had perfect practice attendance Monday.

Wendell practiced with the second team, playing center with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. The Patriots’ starting offensive line remained Nate Solder, Shaq Mason, David Andrews, Josh Kline and Sebastian Vollmer.

The Patriots’ newcomers — defensive tackle Akiem Hicks and practice-squad wide receiver Austin Hill, cornerback Brandon Dixon, linebacker Eric Martin and offensive lineman Sean Hickey — participated in practice.
