The New England Patriots did their due diligence Monday, when they worked out veteran wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, running back Isaiah Pead and tight end Nick Kasa, according to a source.

Nicks played for the Indianapolis Colts in 2014, when he had 38 receptions for 405 yards with four touchdowns. The Patriots play the Colts on Sunday night in Indianapolis.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound wideout also spent five seasons with the New York Giants, and has 349 career receptions for 5,027 yards with 31 touchdowns. He was a first-round draft pick out of North Carolina in 2009.

Pead was selected in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams out of Cincinnati. The 5-foot-10, 204-pound back has 19 career rushing attempts for 78 yards and 14 catches for 94 yards. He’s also returned 18 kicks for 413 yards.

Kasa was selected in the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders out of Colorado. The 6-foot-6, 265-pound tight end has just one career catch for 9 yards.
