Sean Rodriguez made a fool of himself in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ 4-0 loss to the Chicago Cubs in Wednesday night’s National League Wild Card Game, but he’s trying to make amends.

The veteran first baseman was ejected from the game for his role in a benches clearing brawl that began when Cubs starter Jake Arrieta was hit on his hip by a pitch in the seventh inning. Rodriguez appeared to take a swing at a Cubs player during the altercation.

He then took his frustrations to the dugout, where he used a Gatorade cooler as a punching bag.

A day later, Rodriguez apologized to the cooler and, somehow, was forgiven by it as well.

It’s nice to see Rodriguez and the Gatorade cooler have settled their differences. Now he has all summer to work on his. 246 batting average from this season.
