Report: Andrew Luck Might Be Dealing With Rib Injury In Addition To Shoulder

It’s expected that Andrew Luck will play Sunday night, but how healthy he’ll be is very much up in the air.

Luck’s missed the last two weeks with a shoulder injury, but according to The Boston Globe, Luck may also be dealing with a rib injury.

ESPN’s Tim Hasselbeck — who’s also the brother of Colts backup Matt Hasselbeck — speculated in an interview with the Globe that the rib injury could also be an issue for Luck.

“I think it will probably come out that Andrew’s been dealing with some ribs before the Tennessee game, when my brother patted him on the chest during that game,” Tim Hasselbeck told the Globe. “We don’t necessarily have all the information of what he’s playing with. There are a lot of players playing through stuff that people generally aren’t aware of, and it prevents guys from playing their best.”

Luck told reporters Wednesday he’s “pretty darn close to where I want to be” in regards to the shoulder. Colts owner Jim Irsay also told ESPN.com Thursday that he thinks “there’s a strong likelihood “Luck’s” a go” Sunday against the New England Patriots.

Luck’s never beaten the Patriots in four tries, with New England handily winning all four games. Luck is 0-2 in the regular season against the Patriots with just a 75.0 passer rating.
