Report: Bears’ Jeremiah Ratliff Claimed To Be Devil, Made Death Threats Before Release

Jeremiah Ratliff sounds like someone who needs serious help and needs it very soon.

The Chicago Bears released the defensive lineman last week after a reportedly heated exchange with general manager Ryan Pace. According to initial reports, Ratliff was escorted out of the facilities by police.

The police report of the incident is now out, and it paints a very scary picture. According to the police report, via the Chicago Tribune, Ratliff made death threats and claimed to be the devil at the facility on Oct. 21.

Ratliff said “he felt like killing everybody in the building” according to the police report. He then took his stuff and left the building.

However, Ratliff returned later in the day. He reportedly said “I am the devil,” while also saying he “wished staff member’s children would die,” per the Tribune.

The Bears eventually released Ratliff.

The Bears went as far as calling the Dallas Cowboys to inform the organization of the issue, The Dallas Morning News report earlier in the week. Ratliff used to play for the Cowboys and lives in the Dallas area, so the Bears reached out as a precaution.
