Zlatan Ibrahimovic could make David Beckham’s dream of launching his Miami MLS team with some serious star-power a reality.

Beckham wants Ibrahimovic to join his Miami MLS team, French sports newspaper L’Equipe reported Wednesday. Ibrahimovic currently is the leading light at French club Paris Saint-Germain, but his contract expires after this season, and he hasn’t decide what the next step in his glittering career will be.

The Miami MLS franchise is expected to begin play in either 2017 or 2018, depending on how soon Beckham’s ownership group finalizes plans to build a soccer stadium. Ibrahimovic would have play elsewhere or take time off from the sport if he were to join Beckham’s Miami team for its inaugural season.

Ibrahimovic, 34, told Yahoo! Sports earlier this year he’d like to live and play in the United States before he retires.

“I would like to play in U.S., absolutely,” Ibrahimovic said, according to the Mail. “I think it would be an amazing experience.

“Which team? Am I allowed to say that? No, I cannot say that.”

He and Beckham were teammates with AC Milan in 2010 and PSG in 2013, making Miami a potential destination for the Swedish striker.
