Report: Jim Irsay, Ryan Grigson Had ‘Heated Conversation’ In Colts’ Locker Room

There’s trouble brewing in Indianapolis.

The Colts failed to catch up to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, taking a 27-21 loss after going down 20-0 at halftime. And with Indy now sitting at 3-4 — which still is good for first place in a weak AFC South — tempers reportedly are flaring in the front office.

The Indianapolis Star’s Zak Keefer reported Monday that Colts owner Jim Irsay and Ryan Grigson got into a “heated conversation” in the locker room following the loss. Grigson spent millions to bring in wide receiver Andre Johnson, linebacker Trent Cole and left guard Todd Herremans, who all are off to a disappointing start, so it’s no wonder Irsay would be frustrated.

There’s a very good chance the Colts still make the playoffs with their divisional competition being the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans, but they’ll need more out of their acquisitions — and quarterback Andrew Luck — if they want to make it past the first round. If that doesn’t happen, Grigson’s job likely will be on the line along with head coach Chuck Pagano’s.
