Ross Ventrone reportedly will be coached by his brother on the New England Patriots.

The Patriots signed the safety/special teams ace to their practice squad, ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported Wednesday. His brother, Ray Ventrone, is the Patriots’ assistant special teams coach.

Ross Ventrone, 29, previously played for the Patriots from 2010 to 2012. This is Ventrone’s 30th transaction with the Patriots. He’s been signed 14 times, cut 11 times and promoted from the practice squad five times.

He was with the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2013 to 2015. He began the 2015 season on the Steelers’ active roster before being cut Oct. 13.

He has 12 career tackles in 22 games. He recorded two tackles in eight games with the Patriots in 2011.

Ray Ventrone, 33, also played with the Patriots from 2005 to 2008 before joining the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers. He retired over the offseason before joining the Patriots’ coaching staff.
