Jack Eichel is on fire.

Just three games into his NHL career, the No. 2 pick in the 2015 NHL draft is showing why many experts considered him a generational talent coming out of Boston University.

Eichel provided one of the best plays of the young season Monday in the Buffalo Sabres’ 4-2 home win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Eichel fought for and won possession of the puck at the blue line, using his impressive strength and stick work to ward off an opponent. He then skated toward the net down the left side and unleashed an incredible shot high far side for a goal.

Eichel now has two goals in three games and is giving Sabres fans plenty to cheer about after a 2014-15 campaign full of losing.
