Premature celebrations almost always are a bad idea. Well, unless you’re Stephen Curry and you’re the best shooter on the planet.

Exhibit A: The Golden State Warriors’ preseason win over the Toronto Raptors on Monday night. The Warriors already appear to be in midseason form, as evidenced by a gorgeous fast break that resulted in a wide-open 3-pointer for Curry in the corner.

But check out what Curry decided to do while the ball still was in the air.

Yup, that’s the reigning MVP reaching out for a high-five from teammate Andre Iguodala right after the ball leaves his hand. Now that’s confidence.

Curry’s shot went in, obviously, because he’s one of the best shooters in the game. He finished with 14 points in limited minutes, but more importantly sent a message to the rest of the NBA that he and his teammates still are very good at basketball.
