Carolina Panthers Burn Washington Redskins With Trademark Tweet

The Washington Redskins already took a loss to the undefeated Carolina Panthers ahead of their Sunday afternoon matchup.

The two teams square off in Charlotte, N.C., so Washington took the chance to show off how many of its fans were in the city and ready for the game Saturday night. But the Panthers made sure their opponents knew who really was the boss in town.

In case you don’t get the reference, a federal judge cancelled the trademark on the Redskins’ name in July after he ruled the name was disparaging to Native Americans. The team has tried to defend its name, but as of now, there’s still no trademark.

Knowing that makes Washington’s attempted comeback unbelievably lame.

Better luck next time, guys.
