Dion Lewis: ‘Surgery Went Well’ To Repair Torn ACL In Left Knee

The road to recovery begins now for New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis.

Lewis underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee. He posted a photo to Instagram on Wednesday with the caption, “Surgery went well!!”

Lewis injured his knee in the Patriots’ Week 9 win over the Washington Redskins. He finished the season with 49 carries for 234 yards with two touchdowns and 36 receptions for 388 yards with two touchdowns.

Lewis is under contract with the Patriots through 2017 after signing an in-season two-year contract extension.

Running back LeGarrette Blount has taken over for Lewis as the Patriots’ starting running back. James White played Lewis’ third-down role in Week 10.
