The New York Giants will be down a tight end for their matchup against the New England Patriots on Sunday.

Larry Donnell told New Jersey Advanced Media on Thursday he’ll be sitting out Week 10’s rivalry game. The tight end missed the Giants’ last game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, too, with a neck injury. Official word from the team is expected Friday.

Donnell suffered the injury in Week 8 against the New Orleans Saints, and he ran for the first time Wednesday, according to NJ.com. However, he was reevaluated later that day and hasn’t been cleared for contact.

The Giants will turn to second-year tight end Jerome Cunningham and rookie Will Tye against the Patriots.
