If the “E:60” segment on the relationship between Julian Edelman and his father wasn’t enough, NFL Films has you covered.

“NFL Films Presents: Frank and Julian Edelman” was posted to NFL.com on Thursday, and it highlights Frank Edelman’s role in the New England Patriots receiver’s development.

“His whole goal in life was to be Tom Brady’s receiver and go-to guy,” Frank Edelman said in the short film. “And he worked hard at it. He earned everything he’s got. Nothing was given to that boy.”

Frank forced Julian to catch punts one-handed and with one eye so it would be easier as he transitioned from a college quarterback to Patriots wide receiver and punt returner. He also made the Patriots receiver run routes in a tennis court to avoid obstacles.

Frank’s pushing paid off. Edelman has 318 career catches for 3,326 yards with 20 touchdowns and 141 punt returns for 1,699 yards with four touchdowns. He’s seventh all time with 12 yards per punt return.
