Liverpool received good news concerning Philippe Coutinho in the aftermath of its famous win over Manchester City.

Coutinho appeared to have suffered a hamstring problem in the second half.

Manager Jurgen Klopp said in his postgame press conference the injury that forced Coutinho off the field in Liverpool’s 4-1 win isn’t cause for great concern.

“I hope (he) is well enough,” Klopp said, according to LiverpoolFC.com. “He showed not a real (injury), it was a little bit of cramp, he felt something.

“I hope that’s all, he will be very important for us, everybody can see he’s in really good shape in this moment. I hope he can react well enough.”

Coutinho, 23, has been in fine form recently. His first-half goal against Manchester City was his fourth in his last three games.

Liverpool would suffer if Coutinho’s injury sidelines him for an extended period of time.

Since Klopp didn’t offer a diagnosis of Coutinho’s injury, Liverpool fans will have to wait and hope the star playmaker will be as fine as the manager hopes he wil.
