BOSTON — Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller will be sidelined until after Thanksgiving as he deals with an upper body injury, the team announced Thursday.

Miller, who did not practice Wednesday, has been ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Minnesota Wild and Saturday’s matchup with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He also will not travel with the Bruins on their upcoming road trip, which includes stops in Toronto and Detroit.

“Injuries are part of this game,” head coach Claude Julien said Thursday morning. “We move on with the people that we have and go with that. I still feel we’ve got enough depth there to fill that roster and still be a team without saying, like, ‘He’s the reason that we’re not winning right now.’ I think it’s a lot more than that. … We’ll wait and see when he’s available again.”

With Kevan Miller out, Colin Miller will slide back into the Bruins’ lineup after sitting out the last two games.

Colin Miller missed Saturday’s win over the Detroit Red Wings with a lower body injury, then was a healthy scratch for Tuesday’s loss to the San Jose Sharks. He’s recorded one goal and six assists in 14 games this season.

“I think I could have played the other night, but I was just making sure it was good before I went,” Colin Miller said Thursday. “It was kind of up to Claude what he wanted to do, and it was fine. The team won the night before there, so were kind of trying to keep it going. So, hopefully, I can come in and help (Thursday night).”

Kevan Miller was one of just three Bruins defensemen to play in each of the team’s first 17 games. His play has been inconsistent, however, and he admitted last week he “needs to be better.”
