It’s safe to assume Patriots fans all across New England late Sunday afternoon had similar reactions.
Many of them likely were glued to the TV, perhaps on bent knee hoping and praying for Stephen Gostkowski to hit the game-winning field goal against the New York Giants. Those prayers were answered when the kicker booted a 54-yard field goal for the win.
The game-winning kick sent Patriots fans all over the region into celebration, but the celebration wasn’t limited to just here on the ground in New England. Somewhere in the friendly skies, Patriots fans watching on TV on a flight — presumably to Boston — celebrated as the kick split the uprights.
