FOXBORO, Mass. — Jamie Collins officially has recovered from the illness that kept him from practicing for nearly three weeks.

The New England Patriots starting linebacker participated in practice Friday for the first time since Nov. 6. Collins was added to the Patriots’ injury report Nov. 7 with the undisclosed illness. He returned to the facility earlier this week but didn’t practice Wednesday or Thursday.

Collins’ status for Sunday night’s game against the Denver Broncos remains unknown. His chances of playing likely aren’t great after missing nine practices.

Wide receiver Danny Amendola, who’s dealing with a sprained knee, also practiced Friday. He returned to the practice field Thursday in limited fashion.

Cornerback Justin Coleman (hand), wide receiver Julian Edelman (foot) and linebacker Eric Martin were absent for practice.
