The New England Patriots still have an open spot on their 53-man roster after placing running back Dion Lewis on injured reserve, but they reshuffled their practice squad Tuesday.
The Patriots signed offensive linemen Keavon Milton and Torrian Wilson to their practice squad, the team announced. To make room for Milton and Wilson, the Patriots released wide receiver Austin Hill and safety Floyd Raven from their practice squad.
Milton, 25, played tight end and defensive line at Louisiana-Lafayette. He signed with the New Orleans Saints after going undrafted in 2013 but was cut after training camp. He played eight games with the Cleveland Browns as a tight end and special-teamer as a rookie.
Milton was converted to guard after signing with the Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 29, 2014. The 6-foot-4, 324-pound offensive lineman was cut by the Seahawks on Sept. 5.
Wilson signed with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Central Florida this offseason. The 6-foot-2, 318-pound guard was cut Sept. 5.
Hill signed to the Patriots’ practice squad Oct. 1. Raven was added to the practice squad Oct. 28.
The Patriots also have offensive linemen Blaine Clausell and Chris Barker, tight end Asante Cleveland, linebackers Eric Martin and Darius Fleming, wide receiver Chris Harper, fullback Joey Iosefa and safety Ross Ventrone on their practice squad.
The Patriots had an excess of safeties between their roster and practice squad before cutting Raven. They still have nine players at the position.
