Patriots Vs. Giants Odds: New England Strong Favorites In Week 10 Matchup
The New England Patriots will be looking to end a three-game straight-up losing streak against the New York Giants when they visit MetLife Stadium on Sunday as 7.5-point betting favorites at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
New England rides a perfect 8-0 SU record and an 11-game win streak into Sunday afternoon’s Patriots vs. Giants betting matchup, but has failed to tally a victory over the Giants since earning a 38-35 decision in Week 17 of the 2007 season.
The two teams have met twice in the Super Bowl since then, with the Giants pulling off a stunning 17-14 upset as 12.5-point underdogs in Super Bowl XLII before topping the Patriots 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI, covering as 2.5-point underdogs in what was their most recent meeting.
New York also has enjoyed a clear historical edge at the sportsbooks in past matchups with the Patriots, picking up the against-the-spread win in seven of its last nine, and each of its last four, all as an underdog.
As was the case when the two teams clashed in 2007, the Giants face a Patriots squad with aspirations of a perfect season.
New England continued its dominance in its last two outings, manhandling the Miami Dolphins in a 36-7 rout two weeks ago before easily covering as a 14-point favorite in a 27-10 win over the Washington Redskins.
The victories not only extended the Patriots current unbeaten streak, but also improved them to a solid 5-1-2 ATS record in their last eight when favored by seven or more points, according to the OddsShark NFL Database.
While the Patriots are not the sole undefeated team in the NFL this season, joined by the Carolina Panthers and Cincinnati Bengals at 8-0, they have clearly pulled away from the pack on the Super Bowl 50 betting lines, entering Week 10 as 9-4 favorites and as heavy 4-5 chalk to repeat as the AFC champions.
It has been far more of a roller coaster season for the 5-4 Giants, who maintain a slim half-game lead over the Philadelphia Eagles atop the NFC East standings.
The Giants are coming off a 32-18 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, following a disappointing 52-49 loss to the Saints in New Orleans, a gunslinger duel that saw Eli Manning and Drew Brees combine for an NFL-record 13 touchdown passes and 855 passing yards.
New York owns a 3-1 SU record at home this season, but has not posted back-to-back SU wins over its last five outings, going 2-2-1 ATS during that stretch.
