Peyton Manning’s benching is spilling over into Week 11.

The Denver Broncos quarterback rode the pineĀ against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday after throwing his fourth pick in the first half. It was later reported that Manning had a torn plantar fascia in his foot, as well as a rib issue, and now those injuries are giving backup Brock Osweiler a chance to startĀ against the Chicago Bears.

“I reviewed the game, talked to them about the game,” head coach Gary Kubiak said Monday, per the Denver Post. “I also went back and talked to them about Peyton’s situation. I told the team that this week Peyton is not going to play. Brock is going to play. And all our full attention is going to be on getting Peyton back and healthy. I know that’s the best decision to getting him back and healthy and we need to know where we are heading this week.”

Despite the fact that Manning also broke Brett Favre’s all-time passing yards record Sunday, he’s been having a rough season. The 39-year-old is averaging just 242.2 yards per game — good for 25th in the NFL — with nine touchdowns to 17 interceptions and an atrocious 67.6 passer rating. Kubiak even admitted Sunday that he should have benched Manning due to his health.

Kubiak said he had faith in Osweiler, and it seems as though he’ll be taking the Manning situation week by week.

“I spent a lot of time with (ManningĀ on Monday)Ā and told him his total focus is going to be on (getting healthy),” Kubiak said. “He and I will sit down next Monday and go from there.”
