The Boston Red Sox did some roster shuffling Friday.
The Red Sox outrighted outfielder/first baseman Allen Craig to Triple-A Pawtucket. They also outrighted pitchers Jean Machi and Alexi Ogando, making them both free agents. Sandy Leon signed a one-year contract with the club through the 2016 season, but the veteran catcher also was outrighted to the PawSox. Pitcher Ryan Cook was claimed off waivers by the Chicago Cubs.
Boston also reinstated Clay Buchholz, Koji Uehara, Anthony Varvaro, Brandon Workman and Christian Vazquez from the 60-day disabled list.
