The situation in Indianapolis appears to be getting worse.

The Colts recently held a players-only meeting in which they discussed the growing rift between head coach Chuck Pagano and general manager Ryan Grigson, multiple anonymous players told the Indianapolis Star.

The players called the meeting so they could bring up some of their concerns and “galvanize” the locker room, according to the report.

The players told the Star that one of the main issues they have is the coaching staff being given lineup orders from the front office. Such decisions are usually left to the coaches, but that reportedly isn’t the case in Indy.

Indy’s 3-5 start to the season hasn’t helped matters, and it has left players wondering about Pagano’s future. The Colts coach is not signed beyond this season, which is fueling rumors of a potential coaching change. Indianapolis already made one change this week when it fired offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton.

Linebackers D’Qwell Jackson and Robert Mathis reportedly are two of the leaders on the team trying to ease any tension in the locker room.

Unfortunately for the Colts, though, it doesn’t get any easier this weekend with the undefeated Denver Broncos coming to town.
