FOXBORO, Mass. — Rob Gronkowski might be looking for a new line of work.

The New England Patriots tight end responded to some compliments that wide receiver Julian Edelman gave him after Week 8’s matchup against the Miami Dolphins, and he returned the kind words to his teammate. However, he’s interested in one of Edelman’s skills in particular.

“He’s a beast, for his size,” Gronkowski said Thursday. “His quickness, his ability, his speed all together just forms him into the unbelievable player that he is. … He’s not just an unbelievable receiver out there. The skills he has at punt returning and returning the kick is what I like seeing him (do most). It’s the most impressive to me, is him making everyone miss out there.”

In fact, Gronkowski is so interested in Edelman’s punt-return skills that he’d like to give it a shot himself.

“I always wanted (to be a punt returner),” Gronkowski said. “I think if I got some room and caught it on the move, I think I could do some damage. Just don’t let me catch it when there’s already 100 guys around. I need to be on my wheels already.”

Gronk isn’t lying, either, since he regularly carries defenders for significant yardage.
