Liverpool fans won’t soon forget Roberto Firmino’s first goal for the club.
Firmino scored for Liverpool on Saturday in the 4-1 Premier League win over Manchester City. Firmino’s goal completed a beautiful team move and came amid Liverpool’s finest passage of play this season.
Emre Can started the decisive move with a back-heel pass to Philippe Coutinho, who swiftly found Firmino inside Manchester City’s penalty area. Goalkeeper Joe Hart left his line to interrupt the play, and Firmino scored with easiest of tap-ins.
Firmino, 24, joined Liverpool last summer in a £29 million ($45.5 million) transfer from German club Hoffenheim. The Brazilian attacker failed to score in his first 13 outings for the Reds but had looked increasingly potent in recent games coming into the clash with Manchester City.
Firmino’s goal gave Liverpool a 3-0 lead, and the Reds ultimately triumphed 4-1.
