This throw by Marcus Mariota should have resulted in an interception. Instead, it ended up being the longest touchdown pass of the rookie’s NFL career.

During the second quarter of Sunday’s matchup with the New Orleans Saints, Mariota lofted a ball deep downfield in the direction of Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker. The throw soared over Walker’s head, however, and into a spot where Saints defensive backs Keenan Lewis and Jairus Byrd both had an opportunity to pick it off.

Both tried. Neither succeeded.

Instead, the ball deflected off Lewis and Byrd and into the waiting arms of Walker, who proceeded to scamper the rest of the way for a 61-yard touchdown.

As anyone who watched last weekend’s Saints-New York Giants barnburner could tell you, defense isn’t exactly a strength of this New Orleans team.
