Adam McQuaid was forced to exit Saturday’s Boston Bruins-Vancouver Canucks game after taking a puck off the wrist.

The Bruins defenseman used his left arm to block a Jared McCann wrist shot during the first period and immediately recoiled in pain.

McQuaid skated to the bench, exited down the tunnel and was not seen again. The Bruins later announced he would not return.

McQuaid and Torey Krug are the only Boston defensemen to appear in all 25 of the team’s games this season. The 29-year-old’s injury came on a night in which the Bruins had a full complement of healthy D-men — a rarity in a season that’s seen Dennis Seidenberg (back surgery) and Kevan Miller (concussion) both miss significant time.
