Kobe Bryant’s final game in Boston also is Brandon Bass’ first since leaving his old team.
The power forward, who spent four seasons with the Boston Celtics, signed with the Los Angeles Lakers in the offseason and will make his return to TD Garden’s parquet floor Wednesday night.
“When I first walked into the visitors’ locker room, it almost felt like I was a young player again coming in as a visitor,” Bass told NESN.com during morning shootaround. “And it just seemed weird that I’m not going into the home locker room being that I was here for the last four years. I’m just happy to be back here, though.”
Of course, Bass’ return is heavily overshadowed by Bryant’s finale in the city that loved to hate the Mamba throughout his 20-year career. Playing with Bryant on the Lakers has been a fruitful experience for Bass.
“He’s a killer, for sure,” Bass said. “Just chatting with him on the plane, I’m getting some priceless advice from him, (like) his approach to the game and how he’s able to last for 20 years.”
