Let’s take a trip down memory lane to Oct. 17, 2004, the night David Ortiz added the word clutch to his résumé in Game 4 of the American League Championship Series.

Big Papi hit a walk-off home run that night, catapulting the Boston Red Sox’s historic comeback against the New York Yankees. While everyone remembers who hit that homer, though, the same can’t be said for the man who was on the mound — Paul Quantrill.

Several years later, Ortiz is set to retire at the end of the 2016 season but not before he ranked some of the Yankees he’s faced during his storied career, including Quantrill.

“(Quantrill’s) a guy who put me on the map,” Ortiz joked Friday during a video interview with the New York Daily News.

Ortiz, who was in the Dominican Republic for his golf tournament, also talked about Yankees legends Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter, Mike Mussina, Jorge Posada and Roger Clemens, to name a few.

Hear what Ortiz had to say about past and present Yankees in the video below.
