Might Jon Bon Jovi be interested in purchasing the Tennessee Titans? No, according to Jon Bon Jovi.
Jason LaConfora of CBSSports.com reported Monday, citing league sources, that Bon Jovi is “among the potential suitors paying particular attention to the Titans.”
The New Jersey-born rocker was part of a group that tried and failed to buy the Buffalo Bills last year, but he said in a tweet Tuesday that Nashville’s NFL franchise is not on his radar.
In addition to Bon Jovi, who co-owned the Arena Football League’s Philadelphia Soul from 2004 to 2008, La Canfora also named “Steelers minority owner Barry Tepper, FedEx founder Fred Smith and the well-connected Frist family” as potential candidates to buy the Titans should the current ownership group chose to sell.
Interestingly, La Canfora also reported that Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, who played his college ball at Tennessee, could be interested in joining the Titans “in a front office and/or minority ownership capacity.”
The Titans have won just three of their 12 games this season. They have not reached the postseason since 2008 and have not won a playoff game since 2003.
