Day 2 of the Major League Baseball winter meetings lacked excitement.

There wasn’t much activity Monday on Day 1 of the annual event, outside of the Boston Red Sox trading Wade Miley and acquiring Carson Smith in a four-player deal with the Seattle Mariners. There was even less activity on Day 2, with the San Diego Padres and St. Louis Cardinals’ Jedd Gyorko-for-Jon Jay swap standing as the most notable deal as of early Tuesday night.

There still were plenty of rumblings, though.

Jose Fernandez and Shelby Miller continue to be tossed around in trade rumors. Ben Zobrist appears to be nearing a decision in free agency. And Aroldis Chapman’s future is up in the air as Major League Baseball investigates domestic violence allegations made against the Cincinnati Reds closer.

Ashley Allen caught up with NESN.com’s Ricky Doyle to break down the biggest storylines from Day 2 of the winter meetings. Check out the video above to hear Doyle’s pick for Day 2 winner, loser, juiciest rumor and more.
