FOXBORO, Mass. — Troy Hill’s tenure with the New England Patriots was short-lived.

The cornerback was claimed off waivers from the Cincinnati Bengals on Christmas Day and waived Wednesday. The Patriots re-signed defensive tackle Ishmaa’ily Kitchen to take the 53rd spot on the roster.

Kitchen previously signed with the Patriots on Dec. 16 and was waived Dec. 22. He was inactive in Week 15 against the Tennessee Titans. Hill was inactive in Week 16 against the New York Jets.

Kitchen spent three seasons with the Cleveland Browns after going undrafted out of Kent State in 2012. The 6-foot-1, 330-pound nose tackle played one game with the Detroit Lions earlier this season. He joins Malcom Brown, Alan Branch, Akiem Hicks and Sealver Siliga on the Patriots’ defensive tackle depth chart.
