It doesn’t look as though LeSean McCoy and Chip Kelly will be making amends any time soon.

The Philadelphia head coach reportedly tried to call his former running back before the Eagles’ meeting with McCoy’s Buffalo Bills this week, and once he identified himself to McCoy, he received a pretty cold greeting.

“He tried (to call) on Tuesday, according to sources with knowledge of the call,” The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane wrote Saturday. “McCoy didn’t recognize the number and answered. When Kelly identified himself, McCoy hung up. On Wednesday, McCoy said he stood by offseason comments he made about Kelly’s not respecting stars and getting rid of all the ‘good black players.'”

FOX Sports’ Mike Garafolo confirmed the McCoy-Kelly phone call in a tweet Sunday and added that Kelly tried to call back multiple times.

It’s not really surprising McCoy still is mad, as his trade to Buffalo was handled pretty horribly, something Kelly acknowledged. Kellly said recently the Bills and Eagles had agreed not to tell McCoy and linebacker Kiko Alonso about the swap until the trade was finalized the next morning. However, McCoy ended up finding out about the trade through ESPN reports.

“I understand why he’s unhappy about it, and he should not be happy about it,” Kelly said Thursday, per ESPN. “That’s why I would apologize for that. It did not happen the right way.”
