UPDATE (Tuesday, Dec. 8, 11:15 p.m. ET): The Kerry Washington-Nnamdi Asomugha divorce rumors aren’t true, according to TMZ.
“They live like a normal couple, and when you’re around them or on the phone with them they’re clearly into each other,” a source told TMZ. “If they divorce it’d be the most shocking split in a long time. It’s just not happening.”
ORIGINAL STORY: Are former NFL star Nnamdi Asomugha and actress Kerry Washington calling it quits? According to a new report in “Life and Style” magazine, that might be the case.
The couple reportedly already have separated and the “Scandal” star is planning on filing for divorce some time next year after failed couples therapy.
Apparently, Washington is upset Asomugha hasn’t attempted to find work since being waived by the San Francisco 49ers in November 2013. He retired the next month. Meanwhile, Washington works non-stop on her television show, leading to resentment, the magazine said, citing an “insider.”
Asomugha signed a five-year, $60 million contract with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011, but only played two seasons for the team.
