The Baltimore Ravens appear ready to give Ryan Mallett another chance to prove his worth.

The Ravens are set to sign the former New England Patriots and Houston Texans quarterback, ESPN”s Dianna Marie Russini reported Monday. The news comes about a month and a half after Mallett was released by the Texans with the last coming when Mallett missed a team flight to Miami and had to fly commercial to the game.

Mallett’s on-field play hasn’t done him many favors, either. The 27-year-old has made just six career starts, and his team has won only two of those games. He’s completed just 53.1 percent of his passes and has seven interceptions on just 226 career attempts.

The Ravens are extremely thin at quarterback. Joe Flacco is done for the season with a knee injury, and backup quarterback Matt Schaub was inactive for Sunday’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Undrafted rookie Byrn Renner served as the backup to Jimmy Clausen on Sunday.
