Sebastian Vollmer reportedly has received some positive injury news.

The Patriots left tackle was carted off the field after he suffered an ankle injury Sunday during New England’s Week 16 matchup with the New York Jets. The injury appeared severe at the time, but Vollmer is expected to return for the playoffs, according to Comcast SportsNet New England’s Tom E. Curran. That means Vollmer is expected to miss the Patriots’ season finale against the Miami Dolphins this Sunday.

Vollmer suffered the injury during the first quarter when running back Joey Iosefa appeared to roll up on his left ankle. LaAdrian Waddle took over at left tackle, but he also suffered an injury and was replaced by Cameron Fleming.
