San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich doesn’t usually get emotional during interviews, but this was a special occasion.
Longtime NBA sideline reporter Craig Sager caught up with Popovich after the first quarter of Thursday night’s game between the Spurs and Memphis Grizzles on TNT. This was the first time the two had been courtside together since Sager began batting leukemia a year and a half ago. The two shared an emotional moment.
They also engaged in a short encounter in the Spurs’ locker room prior to tip-off.
Sager’s heartwarming return to the sidelines — not to mention his flashy wardrobe — should bring happiness to all NBA fans.
