Steve Smith’s 2015 season ended early because of a torn Achilles suffered on Nov. 1, and it appears he doesn’t want to leave the NFL on those terms.

The Baltimore Ravens wide receiver announced Wednesday via Twitter that he’s returning for a 16th season despite previously announcing he would retire after the current campaign.

Smith caught 46 passes for 670 yards and three touchdowns before his 2015 season ended. The Ravens have struggled without him and enter Week 17 with a 5-10 record.

He has tallied 961 receptions with 13,932 receiving yards and 76 touchdowns over 15 pro seasons between the Carolina Panthers and Ravens.
