Tiger Woods turned 40 years old Wednesday. Jack Nicklaus took notice.
Woods, who has been compared to Nicklaus throughout his illustrious golf career, received an inspirational birthday message from “The Golden Bear” on Twitter.
It once seemed like a forgone conclusion that Woods would match Nicklaus’ 18 major championship wins. Injuries have derailed Woods’ career in recent years, though, and it’s now fair to wonder whether he’ll ever return, let alone come close to being the player he was during his prime.
In any event, it’s always nice to have Nicklaus — one of the greatest of all time — in your corner.
