You know you’re in trouble when you put up 60 first-half points and still trail by 19. And by “in trouble” we mean “playing the Golden State Warriors.” Same difference.
The Dubs cruised past the Indiana Pacers, who despite scoring more points against Golden State than any other team this season lost to the still-unbeaten 23-0 Warriors, 131-123.
In the process, the Warriors, who have won 27 consecutive regular-season games dating back to last season, tied the 2012-2013 Miami Heat for the second-longest win streak in NBA history. They’ll have to get through the Boston Celtics at TD Garden on Friday night if they hope to stand alone in second place.
Klay Thompson poured in 39 points in the win, including a scorching-hot 29 first-half points, while Steph Curry added 29 points and 10 assists.
Thompson left with a sprained ankle, however, and his status for Friday’s game in Boston is yet to be determined.
