Vincent Kompany is looking to put Manchester City back on sound footing.
Kompany is expected to play for Manchester City on Saturday against Sunday. The Manchester City captain has missed his team’s last five games, three of which have ended in defeat.
Manchester City occupies third place in the Premier League standings ahead of Sunderland’s visit. A victory could help Manchester City gain ground on Leicester City and Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
Three consecutive defeats have left Sunderland languishing in 19th place in the standings. Sam Allardyce must improve his team’s defense, which has conceded a league-high 33 goals after 17 games. Signing a Kompany of his own would help Allardyce in that endeavor, but the transfer market doesn’t open for another week.
