The Russell Athletic Bowl very well could have been a playoff game if things worked out slightly differently during the regular season.
The 11-2 North Carolina Tar Heels meet the 9-3 Baylor Bears in Orlando, Fla., on Tuesday, and it should be one of the best of the college football bowl games. Injuries to Baylor’s first- and second-string quarterbacks put the playoffs out of reach for the Bears, while the Tar Heels nearly knocked off No. 1 Clemson for the ACC title.
