UFC 194 still is two days away, but fans had plenty of exciting MMA action Thursday night at UFC Fight Night Las Vegas to hold them over.
Rose Namajunas and rising star Paige VanZant faced off in an extremely physical main event, which Namajunas won via submission in the fifth round.
Another rising star, Sage Northcutt, fared better with a submission win over Cody Pfister less than one minute into the second round. Boston native John Howard, meanwhile, lost his preliminary bout against Tim Means via knockout in the second round.
